Thursday Doors – Türen am Donnerstag in Chapel Street

Thank you, Norm 2.0, for creating this photochallenge for door-lovers around the world. 🙂

Let’s stay awhile in Penzance of pirate fame …

Last week I presented The Egyptian House, today let’s have a close look at Captain Cutter’s door. Feel tempted?

If not, the back entrance might be more to your liking…

Good Fences #114 to Pacify Fairies?

Can a fence with barbed wire be good? As usual this depends. Obviously it protects the fairies wanting to visit this lone tree in Connamara, Ireland. I heard that fairy or lone trees are (or maybe used to be?) quite the rage in that country. The rags are donated to the fairies in return for favours granted. Or so our bus-driver said. The mind boggles. 🙂

Flower of the day: 03/05/16 Blackthorn

In April, when blackthorn blossom clothes the hedgerows like a wedding veil, there sometimes comes a spell of frost or snow so severe that it seems as if spring and summer will never return. This is what country people call a blackthorn winter.
