Thursday Doors – Touch Wood!

Part of Norm Frampton’s photo challenge Thursday Doors. Door-lovers around the globe are invited to take part. Thank you, Norm!

Sphingen treten doch in der Regel paarweise auf, wenn ich mich nicht irre?

Don’t sphinxes (or sphinges, if you prefer) usually come in pairs?

Where’s the other one gone then? Don’t ask…

Just around the corner there’s a twin door (well, almost), guarded by two giant carp (I think, but I’m not sure). Any ichthyologists round here? Please give me a hint then. TIA!

bieberstrasse-tuer-fischI intend to find out more about the two houses. I know they’re listed buildings.

But I promised you wood, and the above examples are only partly made of wood.

How about the unassuming and undecorated variety? Let’s see…

Scheunentore_barn doorsYou think I forgot the ubiquitous bicycle? Of course not! radgarageSee the low-slung grey door behind it? It’s easy to miss, that’s how unassuming it is. 🙂

  1. The first pair of doors and the second are elegant! Black, white, and grey …one of the best timeless color schemes I think.

  2. That first pair is lovely. Are there stairs to the one on the bottom or is it for midgets? 🙂
