Sunday Trees 237 – Hamburg-Schwalenberg-Cornwall

I hasten to contribute this week’s entry to photochallenge Sunday Trees, initiated by Becca Givens. Thank you, Becca!

Take that, Pending Tower of Pisa! Castanea sativa
I’m not too keen on sweet chestnuts, but I adore the pink flowers of Castanea sativa in early May. I give you three guesses from where the wind blows…

This image symbolizes perfect harmony to me, because I spent part of my childhood there.

A catalpa, an Indian beantree, a stranger in these parts. I had no idea they also grow over here, until I noticed green beans lying on the ground. I thought they had dropped from somebody’s shopping basket. Then I looked up and discovered plenty where that came from. One lives and learns.

  1. I am fascinated by trunks of trees — and trees that grow at angles! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
